Technical Support

Get help with vehicle compatibility, installation checks, mirror and camera operation, recording and troubleshooting. Choose the relevant topic below and prepare your order details before contacting support.

Installation resources and product guidance

Start with the instructions supplied for your exact kit, our Self Installation page and Guides. Vehicle generations can use different brackets, plugs and rear-camera assemblies, so instructions for a visually similar kit may not apply.

Check the model identification on the supplied components and your order. Ask us for the correct guide if it is missing or unclear. Use only firmware, software or electrical specifications confirmed for the product version; a file found for another model is not a substitute.

Vehicle fitment and installation support

If a bracket, rear-camera housing or connector does not match your vehicle, stop and send us photos of the original part, the supplied part and the relevant connection. Include the year, make, model, trim and any known modifications. Do not cut factory wiring or force a connector to make an uncertain kit fit.

Route and secure cables according to the vehicle and kit instructions. Wiring must not obstruct airbags, moving trim, pedals or hot surfaces. Electrical checks beyond a visual connector inspection should be performed by a qualified installer when the necessary skills or equipment are not available.

ClearDrive can review product configuration and advise on the kit. Some vehicle wiring faults, damaged connectors or installation problems require an in-person assessment; a photograph alone may not establish the cause.

Common troubleshooting checks

The mirror does not turn on.

With the vehicle safely parked, check the intended power state and visually inspect accessible supplied connectors. If there is no obvious loose connection, ask an installer to check the correct supply, ground and fuse using the kit instructions. Do not bridge a fuse or substitute a higher-rated fuse.

The rear-camera image is missing or intermittent.

Check whether the intended camera view is selected and whether accessible camera connections are fully seated. Look for visibly pinched, stretched or damaged cable. Send photos of the display message and connectors. Do not join plugs solely because their shape appears similar.

The image is blurred, dark or affected by glare.

Check for protective shipping film, dirt or moisture on the camera lens and review the brightness and display settings described in your guide. Clean with a suitable soft cloth. If water appears inside the housing or the picture remains abnormal, stop adjustments and contact us.

The image orientation or parking view seems wrong.

Compare the selected display and camera settings with the instructions for the exact kit. Send a photo of the parked vehicle view and describe when the issue occurs. Do not adjust settings or test a reversing view while driving.

Recording stops or a memory-card error appears.

First confirm that recording is supported by your model and that the card meets its guide requirements. Save any needed files before formatting in the device. If the message returns, send the card specification, error text and steps already tried; do not assume every capacity or format is supported.

The system resets or the problem occurs only sometimes.

Note whether the problem occurs at startup, after warming up, when selecting a camera or when vehicle accessories are used. Capture a short video while parked. Electrical stability, a connection issue and a hardware fault may look similar and need different checks.

What to send with a support request

Email cleardriveca@gmail.com or use the Contact page. Include:

  • Order number and the contact email used for the purchase.
  • Vehicle year, make, model and trim, plus relevant factory equipment or modifications.
  • Product model or serial information where available; photos can help identify the version.
  • Who installed the kit and when the symptom first appeared.
  • A clear description of the symptom, any screen message and the conditions in which it occurs.
  • The checks already tried and focused photos or a short video of the affected component.

Avoid including card details, passwords, home footage or unnecessary personal information. If sending recordings, select only the portion needed to show the issue and remove unrelated personal content where possible.

When to stop using the system

If you notice smoke, unusual heat, a burning smell, exposed conductors, repeated fuse failure or a condition affecting vehicle safety, stop using the system and have it made safe by a qualified technician. Disconnect power only when it can be done safely. Do not continue testing a suspect circuit.

The display is an aid to the driver. Keep direct observation and the vehicle’s required mirrors available and follow the instructions for the product and vehicle. Troubleshooting, filming symptoms and changing settings must be done while safely parked.

Assessment and next steps

We may ask for a setting check, a clearer photo, confirmation from an installer or an inspection of specific components. Follow the agreed steps and retain the conversation so results are not lost between messages.

If a hardware assessment is required, we will explain the process described in Repair Services. Coverage is assessed under our After-Sales Service Policies. Technical advice alone is not a confirmed diagnosis, return authorization or approval of third-party repair costs.

Tell us if a suggested check cannot be performed safely or would require removal of installed trim. We will discuss an appropriate inspection route before asking you to proceed.

Support FAQ

Does using another installer cancel all warranty coverage?

No. Third-party installation alone does not remove coverage for an unrelated product defect. Damage caused by incorrect wiring, mounting or installation is assessed separately.

Can I install firmware I found online?

Only use an update confirmed for the exact ClearDrive hardware and version. Contact us with the product identification before applying an uncertain update.

Do you offer a guaranteed reply or repair time?

We will review the information supplied and communicate the next steps. The time needed depends on the issue and any inspection or parts required; these pages do not promise a fixed response or repair deadline.
